Jakarta – The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta plans to relocate the tourist port for Seribu Islands to Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), North Jakarta. A dedicated pier will be constructed on state-owned land known as Pantai Kita Maju Bersama.

Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub DKI), Syafrin Liputo, stated that the new location aims to improve accessibility for both domestic and international tourists, especially those arriving via Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

“Tourists will no longer need to go through the city center. From the pier in PIK, it will only take around 10-15 minutes to reach the Seribu Islands area,” said Syafrin on Tuesday (18/3).

He added that the relocation of the port is expected to boost the number of visitors to Seribu Islands. A feasibility study for the PIK pier has already been conducted, with the first phase of construction targeted to begin in 2027.

Apart from the pier at PIK, the DKI Jakarta Government will continue developing port infrastructure at several other locations in Seribu Islands, including Pulau Kelapa.

“We have completed several piers in Seribu Islands, such as the East Pier on Pulau Pramuka, and we will continue with the construction of a port in Pulau Kelapa,” he explained.

This initiative is part of the Jakarta government’s strategy to strengthen the tourism sector in Seribu Islands by enhancing visitor convenience with more efficient transportation access.
